This round, we are changing the requirements for signing up. Participants will be able to request 1 fandom at minimum. Only participants requesting at least 3 distinct fandoms will be guaranteed a gift. Pinch hits will still be sent out for those requesting below 3 fandoms, but the collection will not be delayed if their pinch hit is not claimed. Anyone who requested fewer than 3 distinct fandoms and is a post-deadline pinch hit will be contacted and given 48 hours past the deadline to add additional fandoms if they wish.
In addition, participants will also be able to offer 1 fandom at minimum, so long as they are matchable when signups close.

For the sake of this exchange, generally fandoms are “distinct” if they refer to separate, non-redundant fandoms in the tagset. For instance, if a fandom is a manga with an anime adaptation, “Fandom (Anime)” with “Fandom (Manga),” and “Fandom (All Media Types)” with “Fandom (Manga),” are both counted as 2 fandoms, but combining Anime, Manga, and AMT still results in only 2 distinct fandoms. We initially accepted this fandom, but upon further review we are unsure whether it is eligible for Sakura Exchange. Eligible canons must be “produced by a Japanese company, in Japanese, for a Japanese audience.” However, the information we found indicates the game’s developer is a Taiwanese studio. Could the nominator provide more information on whether this fandom should be eligible?
These nominations have been removed from the tagset (though they may show as "approved" to the nominator), but we have a copy in case the fandom is eligible.

Additionally, we are requesting feedback for a potential rule change:

We are considering expanding the minimum requests to a "3-fandoms-to-guarantee" system - participants will be able to sign up requesting 1 fandom at minimum, and will be guaranteed a gift if they request 3 distinct fandoms (like our existing guidelines). Pinch hits will still be sent out as normal for anyone requesting below 3 fandoms, but the collection will not be delayed if their pinch hit is not claimed; anyone requesting below 3 fandoms will be contacted and given the opportunity to add more qualifying fandoms to guarantee a gift.

If you are a current participant, will this affect the way you sign up (requests, offers, or otherwise), and how? If you did not participate in Sakura Exchange because of the fandom minimum, but would be interested with the 3-fandoms-to-guarantee system, please also let us know.
